Common Emergencies We Treat
Dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly, and when they do, we're here to help. At Dental Haven, we treat a wide range of dental emergencies, ensuring you get the care you need when you need it most. Common emergencies we treat include:
Toothaches
Sudden, sharp tooth pain can be a sign of an infection or decay. We work quickly to identify the cause and provide relief so you can feel comfortable again.
Broken or Chipped Teeth
Whether it's from an accident or biting down on something hard, a broken or chipped tooth shouldn’t be ignored.
Lost or Loose Fillings
If you’ve lost or noticed a loose filling, it can be uncomfortable and leave your tooth vulnerable. Seek treatment to prevent further discomfort.
Knocked-Out Teeth
If a tooth is knocked out, time is critical. We offer emergency care to either reattach the tooth or discuss replacement options, depending on the situation.
Dental Abscesses
A dental abscess is an infection that can cause swelling, pain, and fever.
Swollen Gums or Jaw
Swelling can indicate an infection or other serious issue.
Broken Crowns-Bridges
If your dental crown or bridge has broken or become loose, we’ll provide a quick solution to restore it and protect your teeth from further damage.
How to Handle Emergency Situations
Toothaches
Rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss around the tooth to remove any food or debris. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the affected tooth. If pain persists, call us for an emergency appointment.
Broken or Chipped Teeth
Save any pieces of the tooth if possible. Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Call us immediately for treatment.
Knocked-Out Teeth
If a tooth is knocked out, handle it carefully by the crown (not the root). Rinse it gently with water, and if possible, try to place it back in the socket or keep it in a container of milk. Time is critical—call us right away.
Lost or Loose Fillings
If you’ve lost a filling, try to keep the area clean and avoid chewing on that side of your mouth. You can temporarily use a dental cement (available at pharmacies) to cover the area until you see us.
Dental Abscess
An abscess is a serious condition that can cause pain and swelling. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and call us immediately to treat the infection and prevent it from spreading.
Swollen Gums or Jaw
Swelling can be a sign of an infection or an abscess. Rinse with warm salt water to ease discomfort, and contact us for urgent care.
